Dear all,
The enclosure D3700 has two I/O modules at the rear, each with an SAS DP-1 interface. Is it possible to configure these DP1 interfaces to operate in a way similar to Dell's "split" mode, where each DP-1 interface manages a group of 12 drives?

SolutionHello @MTRenato,
Dell's split mode as seen in some Dell MD-series or PowerVault enclosures, allows each controller or host to control a subset of drives (e.g., 12 drives per controller in a 24-bay system). This mode is hardware and firmware-specific to Dell and supported by the backplane design and management controllers.
The D3700 is not designed for zoning or splitting its drives across separate DP-1 interfaces. The two I/O modules in the D3700 provide redundancy; both modules see all 25 drives. They are not intended for partitioning the drive set.
Regards,
Azr_geek

Re: HPE D3700
Hi @Azr_geek,
Thank you for your response and for clearing that up.
Just out of curiosity, do you happen to know if there’s any HPE model that offers a similar feature to what I mentioned or something close to it?
Best,
MTRenato.
