HSG80- Unflushed data in cache

Hi,
I have a MA8K ,the HSG80 with two controllers have messages as below:
"Unflushed data in cache" in this controller ,and other controller is "No unflushed data in cache" . what the impact with this controller ? How to change the status as same as the other controller ?

It can be normal.
But notice this:
"DANGER: BATTERY BAD, REPLACE BATTERY NOW!"
You should change cache batteries as soon as possible.
Or do trick with frutil and say that you replaced batteries.

Hi,

As Vladimir says, the "Unflushed data in cache" message is to be expected if an operating system is writing data to a LUN on that HSG80.

The other controller is probably reporting "No unflushed data..." because all the LUNs are being presented by this controller.

To temporarily get rid of the Battery warning, type "run frutil" and follow the default prompts, without actually swapping the batteries. You should of course replace the batteries as soon as you can as HSG80s can be unpredictable with bad batteries...

Just in case new batteries are not available anymore and you probably have an UPS in your datacenter, there is another solution for the battery problem.

SET THIS_CONTROLLER UPS=DATACENTER_WIDE

After that you can remove the batteries from the system and it will miss them anymore. You just have to be careful and always shut the system down properly. If you just unplug the power cords, cache contents will be lost.

This also works if you have no UPS but I wouldn't recommend that.
