LUN maximum devices
Looking for some help here.
I have a Itanium server running HP-UX 11.23 with 4 HBAs. This is connected to a HP VLS (6600?) Virtual Tape Library. I want to create 16 virtual drives per HBA.
I've been reading about the limitations of the 8 devices, but I have a Windows 2003 server zoned that can see ALL of the virtual drives I've created.
HP is telling me that you can address more than 8 but not if it's HP-UX and their VLS. I don't believe them.
Does the SAN need to be in a didferent mode? We are using AL now and may be limited.
I have the feeling that configuring the OS differently will allow me to see these devices. AIX is my bag and HP-UX is new to me.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
