MSA 1500

Can MSA 1500 array with SATA disk can be used for backup solutions .How is this solution as compared to tape backup ,i.e transfer speed ,restore speeed etc ,can multiple MSA be used so as to spread the data and compensate for the restore speed which I think is lees then tape...
