MSA2000 expansion

Hi,

I have a really simple question about cabling but need to be 100% before I proceed! We have a HP iSCSI MSA2324i dual controller and I'm about to expand the storage using a MSA2012sa. I've attached a link to an image about how I think the cabling should be.

Once this is connected up are there any good instructions about configuring? Is it just a case of logging into the MSA2324i Storage Management Utility and it will find it?

Re: MSA2000 expansion

Hi,

See the installation guide and a cable configuration guide:

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01756253.pdf
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01755933

Neither of them list MSA2000 G2 iSCSI <> MSA2000 G1 SAS. That is likely not supported.

The bottom enclosure in the picture does not look like an MSA2012sa (MSA2000 G1). It should have more SAS ports if that were the case.

Maybe it is an MSA2000 enclosure for expansion only?

If so, the cabling looks correct and there is a similar picture in the MSA2000 G2 installation instructions.
