Netserver LC2000 Backplane replacement/upgrade

This Netserver comes with a backplane hotswap configuration for 6 1" hotswap harddrives and I would like to reconfigure it to accept 4 1.6" hotswap hard drives. Does a backplane replacement part for this server exist??? Would a part from the LC3000 work??? HP has discontinued tech support for this model and I am having trouble finding any information.
