Smart Array 2/p controler with 1

Hi, I??m using an Smart Array 2/p controler with 1 Scsi disk Ibm 10.rpm 18Gb with Win XP Pro. Bios 4.50b

My problem is that, my UDMA5 disk is much more fast.

Is this normal ? As i??m only using one disk.

I??m using the Xp driver.

I??ve used the Compaq Driver for instalation, but Xp don??t let me use the same.

I??ve used the Compaq Array utility for creating the volume.

Please, i need Help
