snapclone mount on different server for backup
Hi Friends,
Our environment is having two database servers (rx6600)which are clustered (ServiceGuard,RAC). ASM is configured with Oracle.LUNs (7 LUNs) using for ASM are sitting on storage (EVA5000).
As the export backup is taking too much time to complete we are planning to take a snap clone of the luns and configure a backup server in such a way that it can recogonise the snapcloned luns and will start databse instance on it and start export backup from there, so the backup will not affect the online servers.
Is this possible? What are the diffiulties in this configuratiion and what is the best practise for the same?
