Solutioncheck with
# armdsp -a
and
# armrbld -p
Your disk M/D10 is probably bad and needs replacement.
Consider to close your duplicated thread.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: VA 7110
Rebuild status:
Vendor ID = HP
Product ID = A6189B
Rebuild progress = No rebuild in progress
Auto Rebuild is = ENABLED
Rebuild priority is = HIGH
The array is not currently rebuilding.
How would i know what is the configuration done in all disk. Can anyone let me know the command. for example
Disk 1 --> data
Disk 2 ---> parity
Disk 3 ---> spare
Can i get above kind of details. Any command in brief.
Can anyone know how to browse into the Management console of my VA7110 SAN box.
Thanks

Re: VA 7110
The Drive @ location M/D10 is out and is not even listed.
Couple of things you could do here:
1) Reseat the drive and wait for a min, re-run the armdsp command and look for the drive.
2) replace the hard drive and since Auto rebuild and Autoformat are 'on' they should get the drive active.
Cheers!

RAID Level:___________________________RAID1+0
so it is what you call the Magical Value, where you get high performance with great redundancy;
Replace the Drive 10 and you should be OK!
Cheers!

Re: VA 7110
I have already ordered new disk with HP. Will wait till that time.
Is that safe if I remove that particular 10th disk and push again ? Wont it affect any other disk?
Thanks

Re: VA 7110
it's a 'Re-Seat', you could definitely reseat the drive since
1) There are no rebuilds queued up this time.
2) The Drive is not a part of the array yet.
However, since you have already ordered the drive, I'd suggest waiting for the replacement.

Re: VA 7110
The disk is back and functional. You rather keep an eye on the drive for a couple'o days or a week. If it fails again replace the drive and send it back.
Or better, wait for the balancing to complete remove the drive and replace the new one to avoid issues.
I would never like my array doin a balancing act everyday :)
Cheers!

Re: VA 7110
The Logs look clean (for now!).
Remember! If you find amber light on the drive again, go ahead and replace it. Otherwise you'r OK.
Thanks and regards!

Re: VA 7110
I wish to do something more than this.
I have database server in which the drives are mounted on this VA7110. One of the path is 98% i wish to extend this. Do you know the procedure. I wish to know the following,
1. How much free space available on my SAN.
2. How can use that free space to that 98% drive path,
I am attaching that bdf details below.
This is critical prodution server. Have you ever did this before.
Bdf as follows,
/dev/vg00/lvol3 1540096 1436200 103096 93% /
/dev/vg00/lvol1 497584 89168 358656 20% /stand
/dev/vg00/lvol10 6144000 2439176 3678808 40% /var
/dev/vg00/lvol8 6144000 3985600 2141560 65% /usr
/dev/vg00/lvol7 4096000 3412035 651361 84% /u01
/dev/vg00/lvol6 1024000 654528 366696 64% /tmp
/dev/vg00/lvol5 6144000 4282136 1849000 70% /opt
/dev/vg00/lvol4 1024000 20358 940921 2% /infraservices
/dev/vg00/lvol9 1024000 149944 867368 15% /home
/dev/vg01/lvol1 9216000 7685432 1482740 84% /pdwp1pkg/u02
/dev/vg01/lvol2 9433088 8197448 1197030 87% /pdwp1pkg/u03
/dev/vg01/lvol3 11980800 11733464 239610 98% /pdwp1pkg/u04
/dev/vg01/lvol4 11980800 7347350 4491582 62% /pdwp1pkg/u05
/dev/vg01/lvol5 512000 81224 411952 16% /infraservices/XML
/dev/vg01/lvol6 4096000 2042896 1924848 51% /pdwp1pkg/u06
You can see one drive path is 98%. I wish to extend this using the available free space in SAN.
Thanks

Re: VA 7110
Hi,
/dev/vg01/lvol3 11980800 11733464 239610 98% /pdwp1pkg/u04
You can check the free space in VG vg01 by considering the Free PE counts. Then you can extend the LV /dev/vg01/lvol3 with available free space and then do fsadm on mount point to extend it.
Post the below output to know your available free space.
#vgdisplay -v vg01
