What is the difference between mirroring replication and replication target edition?

What is the difference between mirroring replication and replication target edition?

I have two nas boxes each with their own data. I am using a trial version of storage works to replicate NAS A data to NAS B, and vice versa.

do each of these servers need the replicate edition of storage works or the replication target edition of storage works, or both?
