About ILT cables

Hi Folks,

I need to implement a Cluter, for that I proposed the use of DS2100 disk array (see the athachment). Nevertheless hp support indicate to me that the disk drives ds2100 are not supported by cables ILT. What actually unit SCSI I can use with this type of cables ??

I believe you want to be looking at the MSA30 with the MI module for a SCSI JBOD cluster.

Re: About ILT cables

Hi Rene,

Problem with the DS2100 is you can't get 2 dual-port I/Fs on it and you can't split the bus. You need dual paths from *both* systems for true HA. It can only have 2 I/Fs on it & even then - the SCSI IDs of the host HBAs must be different. And you must take care not to step on each other's drives.
NOW...you could use *another* drive - outside of the DS2100 as your root/boot mirror if you so desire to get the mirror.
But the DS2300 can fulfill that requirement - but of course it's a much pricier JBOD. But then again it can hold 14 drives compared to the DS2100 limit of 4.

Rgds,
Jeff
