Adding new disk to k220
I have an old HP9000/K220 dual processor server. It currently has four internal hard disks (seagate barracuda ST15150WD) of 4.2GB each. I wanted to increase the storage capacity of the machine, so I removed one of the barracudas and added a 17GB (IBM DGHS18U) to it, giving it the same SCSI ID (of 5).
The problem is, after that, the system does not detect any disks at all, even the tape drive and CDROM drive!! Have I done something wrong or did I miss something? Please help.
thanks,
sandeep

Re: Adding new disk to k220
Of course! Looking to this unit I would guess it has Ultra-Wide-SE interface. Disks inside K-box are Fast-Wide-Differential aka High-Voltage-Differential. These interfaces, i.e. LVD/SE and FWD/HVD are electically incompatible, and please do not connect then together
