BIOS doesn't read HD

I just bought a new hard drive (60gig not HP). My BIOS version says that it does not recognize anything over 33.6gig. I can't seem to find any BIOS update on HP's website. So i'm lost.

any suggestions?

Nor knowing what drive you have, I can tell you:

Most, if not all drive makes havea website where you can download utilities to help fit older platforms, re- adress bios limits, load windows and stored files by cloning, etc. go to the web site for your drive, fish a bit, you'll find it.

Try using the software the drive vendor offers for units that don't recognize larger drives. Maxblast from Maxtor for example.

Or look at a PCI IDE controller that does support larger drives.

Ever stop to think and forget to start again?
