Changing Hard Disk Serial Numbers
Is there any utility that can be used to reset the Hard Disk Serial Number (HDSN) of an IDE Hard Disk? We're currently using HP Vectra VL400 DT types of PC, running windows 95/98.
We have legacy in-house software that uses the HDSN as part of a secure install process and it doesn't seem to recognise "newer" models of Hard Disk - we do have one piece of in-house software that resets the HDSN, but this also doesn't recognise newer disks.
Thanks in advance,
