Compaq Evo N800C disk i/o - poor performance problem

I have a problem with minor disk I/O on a Compaq Evo N800C - 20 Gb disk running NTFS and an Intel 82801 CAM Ultra Ata storage controller 248A -
System info giving IDE controller mode :
Ultra DMA 5 currently running

But in practice its slow, and test reveal
an average I/O of 8,6 Mbs only!
(see attachment)

Could anyone possibly suggest a source / solution to this problem?

Thanks

I can't see what SiSoftware is doing.. No source code, so that makes it a mystery.
Perhaps you might try Iozone. (It free)
http://www.iozone.org
It comes with source code, and executables for
Windows and Unix systems. Iozone permits one to control exactly every parameter of a test, so it has meaning when your done :-)
