hard drive split?

Some how my 14.34 gig HD on my 6653c became 'split' and I can't access the 'empty' part. Is there a way to do so? The 'unused' portion is recognized by various utilities, but the system only allows (and reports) me to use 1.8gigs. I've tried Testdisk and Disk Commander without success. Is this due to a corrupt MBR or what? I really would like to get the false partition back 'online'. Please help.

I'd suggest getting partition magic. And if that doesn't work, then I'd suggest a backup of your PC, reformat (low level), and rebuild it.
