Yes, it's old and it's big, but does anyone posses a list of the 7933 keypad operations etc. ? I'm having some (minor) problems with the drive and I'd like to run some diagnostics on it. Unfortunately I don't have any manuals for the drive, only some sort of quick-start guide (Hmm, quick-start and 7933 in the same message:-)
TIA,
Jarkko

Re: HP 7933 keypad help
This query would be better placed under the Mass Storage-> Discs forum, as there might be a better response from them.
As u say, these are old discs and I have not worked on one in 8 years.
Sorry I cannot help here.

Hello Jarkko!
I remember this box quite well, it has 404MB and the size of a dishwasher...
These are the most common commands:
Display utilities:
80 display status
81 display fault log
83 display run time error logs
84 display error rate test logs
Error rate tests (ERT):
90 read only ERT
91 pattern write then read ERT (writes data onto the disk!)
92 Short write then read ERT (as above)
93 random write then read test (as above)
94 random read only ERT (shakes the box around)
