NetServer E800 Disk Drive Firmware Upgrade

What is the suggested time schedule between hard drive firmware upgrades? It seems as though every time we have any type disk problem HP says it is the firmware. What does HP suggest?

The answer is in your question already. You've been told to upgrade the firmware :)

Re: NetServer E800 Disk Drive Firmware Upgrade

I guess what I was asking is...Do I need to do this once a week, month, year? I just do not understand why everything will be running great for month's then all of a sudden a problem occurs and it is because I do not have the latest drive firmware.

I think that upgrading firmware could be the first step - because it's simple to do and can be done by end user.
Newer firmwares have fixes, and it's possible that it has a fix for problems your disks experience.
Generally you should track new firmware releases, read annotations to understand if you should apply new firmware or not.
And of course, if there's really something wrong then even new firmware will not help...
