Recovering HD data

I had to format and reinstall my software on my HP 514n 60gig hard drive. Is there any way to recover any files wiped out by the formatting? I lost a lot of graphics files.

Re: Recovering HD data

Most time there is no recovery possible when you have used the disk after formatting, there is a little chance of limmited recovery when you ahve used a Low Level Format. There are programs on the net who trys to read beneath the formatted bits 'n bytes because when a disk is low level formatted the only thing the format does is changing the first or last key of a sector.

hope you find a program, i cant find the yet..

Terrance,
Contact http://www.drivesavers.com/ and see if there is anything they can do. Most likely it is gone. If the restore actually formatted the hard drive and wrote 0's across the disk, its gone. Always back up your data to a second source.
