I would like to mirror (using 'dd' or other means) the HP drives and install them in my C3000 workstation, if possible.
The big question: Will the HP 36.4G MAP3367NC SCSI hard drives work properly in the my other workstation (C3000) with the existing ULTRA NARROW Single-Ended SCSI controller and/or an ULTRA2 WIDE LVD SCSI controller?
If not, what HP SCSI controller can I purchase to install in the C3000 that supports both the Seagate (9.1 GB) and HP (36.4 GB) drives?
Solved! Go to Solution.

SolutionLVD drives is backwards compatible with SE (Narrow and Wide) but, of course with some limitations. If a LVD drive is connected to a SE bus, the drive will work in SE mode (with SE limitations in cable lenght). Also performance may decrease, if you connect a Ultra 320 dri´ve to a NSE bus, the performance is limitated to the NSE bus performance.
What is NOT compatible is HVD devics, not with SE or with LV

Re: SCSI and Controller Compatibility HELP?
MAP3367NC ... Doesn't state the interface! 80pin SCA? 69pin?
The Seagate ST39102LC is 80pin SO you need to make sure that your internal PCI controllers have the correct interfaces as the drives to start with!
Ultra Narrow is usually the terminology for 50pin...
Try Adaptec website as mentioned before. Jenny.

Re: SCSI and Controller Compatibility HELP?
Just FYI, MAP3367 is a Fujitsu drive.
