SCSI Drives with & without Server Trays
I'm hoping someone can give me some direction with regard to a series of HP SCSI Drives I picked up recently. I intended to use them to upgrade an existing Server, but I'm not exactly sure whether they are worth the bother... or if I ought to get another case for them... or try to locate an "HP" case...
The SCSI Drives are as follows:
ST336752LC/ P/N 9T3006-022 (7 w/Trays)
ST336753LG/ P/N 9T9001-031 (6 w/o Trays)
I am currently running a "PowerEdge" server, (whisper, I know) But I want to install these HP Drives, to upgrade the storage capacity Signifigantly... My question really is do I want to bother, or just try to locate a case for these HP Drives... They were very reasonable, and quite literally would quadruple my storage capacity if they are complatable... Obviously I would have to remount the drives on the correct trays... and Mirror the current OS, and Data... Currently Running "LINUX OS in/RAID" on the PowerEdge...
This is really more of a "Project" than anything... So any pointers would be most appreciated... Thank You, in Advanced...
