Can an Ultra SCSI 3 disk (Seagate ST318437LC)
go on the same SCSI bus (c720 GSC built-in Fast/Wide SCSI Interface) as an Ultra SCSI Wide disk (SEAGATE ST19171W)?
Will there be SCSI resets?
Thanks,
Steve

Thanks,

Re: SCSI type compatibility
see this link to all the info regarding these disks.
Also the installation manual might help you out.

Re: SCSI type compatibility
1. Connect to any Single Ended Narrow bus using an appropriate 68 to 50 SCSI cable. Low performance, but it will work.
2. Using a Fast-Wide-Diff to LVD SCSI converter, you can connect the drives to any of your HP F/W/D SCSI buses. Moderate performance, fairly universal application among your systems.
3. Install an Ultra-2 or Ultra-160 SCSI controller in your system. This will work on your systems with empty PCI slots, and provide visibly faster performance than any of the other options.
I would strongly recommend #3. The cost of such an interface board is not very high, and is fairly comparable to the F/W/D converter of #2.
