Ultra 2 and Ultra 3 array configuration

Ultra 2 and Ultra 3 array configuration

Hi all, I have a raidset consisting of Ultra 3 drives. I'd like to add an online spare, which is an Ultra 2 drive. Would the mixing of the drives result in the whole array running at Ultra 2 speeds or would this only occur when the online spare is online? Thanks.

It will stay at an Ultra3 speed until the on-line Ultra2 spare starts to rebuild. Then it will run at an Ultra2 speed.
