We currently have HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11
looking to have cost effective GPU for these servers, currently we have tried RTX 4090 which does not fit.
Are there any GPU which are will be compatible with these servers (non Server GPU will also work NVIDIA A5000 or A6000 if it is compatible).?
If there are option please provide us with some options also recommend what riser we might need etc?

Hi,
Please refer to the server QuickSpecs on page# 61 for HPE Computation and Graphics Accelerators.
You can contact HPE Ireland sales or Reseller for the parts availability.
Here is the online shop link.
Thank You!

Re: Query: GPU for proliant dl380 gen11 - Prolaint server - DL380 Gen11
For your HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11 servers, the following GPUs are compatible: NVIDIA A16 64GB PCIe Non-CEC Accelerator for HPE, NVIDIA L4 24GB PCIe Accelerator, NVIDIA L40 48GB PCIe Accelerator, NVIDIA H100 80GB PCIe Accelerator, and Intel Data Center GPU Max 1100. For non-server GPUs, the NVIDIA A5000 or A6000 are not specifically mentioned as compatible in the provided contexts. For the riser, you can use the HPE DL38X Gen10 Plus x16/x16 Slot 1/2 FIO Riser Kit or the HPE DL38X Gen10 Plus x16/x16 Slot 2/3 FIO Riser Kit. Please note that these riser kits do not support the A100 GPU card.
For the A100 GPU card in the HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11 servers, you should use the HPE DL385 Gen10 Plus Primary/Secondary Riser Cage without Retainer Clip (P38771-B21) or the HPE DL385 Gen10 Plus Tertiary Riser Cage without Retainer Clip (P38774-B21). These risers are required when an A100 GPU card is selected.

Re: Query: GPU for proliant dl380 gen11 - Prolaint server - DL380 Gen11
Hello,
1st scenario: How many L4 GPUs can I install on HP DL 380 Gen 11 hardware with riser additions?
2nd scenario: How many A16 GPUs can I install on HP DL 380 Gen 11 hardware with riser additions?
What cables and riser kits do I need?
Thank you for your support.

Hi I put Nvidia A100 on DL380-G10 & G11 with different riser.then I got high temperature from GPU and I couldn't install OS and... is it happened because of type of riser?

Re: Query: GPU for proliant dl380 gen11 - Prolaint server - DL380 Gen11
Yes, it’s possible that the riser type you are using could be contributing to the high temperatures and installation issues with the Nvidia A100 GPU in your ProLiant DL380 Gen10 and Gen11 servers. The riser type impacts airflow, power distribution, and the physical mounting of the GPU. If the riser does not provide adequate airflow or places the GPU too close to other components, it could cause overheating.
