3par 8200 controller Node replace
Hello Team,
I have a 3par 8200 model. The storage controller node 1 has failed and has the same spare of the controller. I want to change the controller node one. What are the steps for changing the controller? after changing the controller it's automatically added to the cluster or do I need to do something? Please help me to share the procedure for changing the controller.

Re: 3par 8200 controller Node replace
This is not an easy thing, which is why it is usually only done by HPE support.
I don't dare give inexperienced users instructions and say: Just do it, hopefully, it will work.
It is better to open a support case and pay for On-Site Service if necessary, before risking losing all of your data.
(My opinion)
And assume, that is, why nobody answers here.

Re: 3par 8200 controller Node replace
I would not recommend that you replace the node controller unless you know what you are doing. An HPE suppled replacement node has the eprom configured so it can be added to a running system and a node rescue will automatically be initiated as part of the replacement procedure. If you have spare node from an unknown source, you would need to know the correct steps to get the node into the correct state before it can be added successfully.
Call HPE support and log a case.

Re: 3par 8200 controller Node replace
You will need to reach out to HPE support to obtain a new node for the replacement. Additionally, HPE support will be able to assist you with the replacement process.
Thank you!
