3par compression
I recently installed a new unit 3par 8400. I need deduplication and compression features for my Virtual volume. The OS version now is 3.2.2. I read the article saying compression requirement need the OS to be 3.3.1. The latest OS version i can get in software depot is the current version I have.
How can I get the OS version 3.3.1?

Re: 3par compression
if your virtual volume is on a SSD tier you can implement deduplication with 3.2.2
You can do a dedup estimate of your existing volume which may show you what you can get with Dedup on 3.2.2
A upgrade to 3.3 would include the ability to do Deduplication and compression.

Re: 3par compression
As mentioned, 3PAR Support team will perform the upgrade. Be remindful that Dedup/Compression is only supported on SSDs. FC & NL drives and AO configured SSDs do not support these features.
