Command View Issues - Lock Busy

Hi,

When adding a new zoned host to CV i get;

"Lock Busy

(Caution: Do not use the Back button to exit this page. Doing so may duplicate the action that produced this page.) "

This occurs quite a lot when adding new hosts and eventually goes away, id like to know why its doing this as i need to add a host asap.

Thanks

this may be that someone else is doing something to this array at the same time as you. Is someone else using command view as well? This could also be due to another peice of software talking to the array at the same time as you.

Hi,

My engineer was installing MPIO etc, I will get all users out of CV also.

Best practice for CV. Only one instant of CV should be running at anytime.

Strange, Ive just tried dialling in. Engineers wouldnt be logged in now...same results.

FC Disk group is levelling do you think this could be why?

Hi,

What version of Command View are you running ?

You might need to upgrade and/or apply patches...

Re: Command View Issues - Lock Busy

We see this behaviour at our site, too simetimes.
I don't know a solution (besides booting the CV host) but what normally works is using the cli (sssu) to add the host.

Re: Command View Issues - Lock Busy

When you carry out certain instructions / commands you get the option to tell CV to run the task in the background or lock out all users while it performs the task.

This can sometimes lock out everyone while the task is carried out. I'd suggest whenever you get the option, tell it to run the command in the background and prevent locking users out.
