Re: Command View through a browser

Command View through a browser

We are running CV 1.09 on an L class under HPUX v11.11 with a VA7410.

Using cvui on the L class at command line we can see the array and commands like armdiscover work fine.

I have set up the /etc/services file with the socket for CV and put the ip of my PC running Windows 2000 in access.dat. Trying to bring up CV through the web browser on my PC using the http://(c) Copyright 2000-2004 - Hewlett-Packard Company
and nothing else. - help please

Re: Command View through a browser

If I remember correctly, that also requires some http to be running on host. (on CV server)

Re: Command View through a browser

OK Thanks for the replies - I'm no further forward. As per my question details, I do get a response from the CV server onto my client PC through the Browser which does suggest to me that the above responses are being met and my settings are OK. I get the response from the CV as a per above but not VA display.

Re: Command View through a browser

Bill,
in place of the "hostname" on the http:// line, can you substitute your L-class's actual IP-address, 192.168.1.x .. ?

can you double check your Window's host file under: Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts.

could it be a routing issue back from your Server to the Windows Client ?

- is your PC's address in the /etc/hosts file on the Server ?

- have you tryed doing a traceroute to your PC's IP from the L-class server ? Can the Server route to your pc fine ?

- try another browser that works also. I've seen browsers lock up, blank screen, but FireFox does work!! try "FireFox" download: http://www.mozilla.org, using this one has solved some of my communications in general.

Re: Command View through a browser

Hi Tom

The fact that I can get some response such as:-
"hp StorageWorks Command View web server
(c) Copyright 2000-2004 - Hewlett-Packard Company"

makes me think it is not a network or resolution problem.
