Data Replication at SAN level.

We have HP RISC servers
Could you please kindly help as in HP Disk Array xp1024 we have Business Copy( BC ),Continuos Access(CA )& HORCOM SOFTWARE .

How we can do same activities with EMC Symmetrics SAN .

BC anc CA is HP tools. Working only for HP storage.

I dont know about EMC storage tool.

Do you replicate your data at same box or different box?

if you using diferent box, Many tools can you use for data replicator. ex: VVR ( Veritas volume replicator), Falconstor software and TDMF (Transparancy Data Migration Facility)software. that is a third party solution.

Scenario 1

We have HP PA Risc box & EMC Symmetrix DMX SAN. We are looking for options for replication.

as i said before. you can used third party software. ex:
1. VVR ( Veritas volume replicator)
2. Falconstor software
3. TDMF (Transparancy Data Migration Facility)
4. your application. ex: if using oracle, you can use oracle stanby.
5. mirroring hpux.

Hi Sharish,

On EMC DMX, you can use EMC's SRDF(sYmmetrix Remote Data Facility ) for remote copy ( you can use it over WAN for long distances also ) and Timefinder for local BCV copy.
