Difference between HBAs provided by different OEMs
Hi All
I have two HBAs:
- HP AJ762A (corresponding Emulex LPe12000-M8 12000)
- IBM 42D0485 (corresponding Emulex LPe12000-M8 12000)
Can you please let me know if there any difference in the above mentioned HBAs at the hardware level? If their is no difference between the two, can I use these HBAs on some other vendor server; while using the driver, firmware and BIOS from emulex's site.
or else if I use HP OEM Emulex HBAs with DELL server and use/update its Boot Code (BIOS/Firmware) as recommended on DELL Site /or Emulex Site for DELL OEM. Should there be any issue?
Please guide me.

Re: Difference between HBAs provided by different OEMs
This is cause most of times each vendor provide specific parameters on the drivers, on my experience we had problems once we tried to use some brocade firmware instead of the Brocade firmware provided for HP.
