EVA5000 issues
Greeting all,
We have a new EVA5000 with dual controllers. Some users complain that their files are missing on the server. When I looked at the event on the EVA as well as Windows 2003 server. I get this on Windows event:
--HSV Management Element Event--
Time Stamp: 1/25/2006 05:04:09
StorageCell: 5000-1FE1-5204-5CB0 IDSEEVA1
Event Desc: A new storage array has been discovered.
Event Code: 8093
and this on the EVA logs
09:07:00
25-Jan-2006 Yes 8093 IDSSQL1
A new storage array has been discovered.
I spoke with HP tech support and he said it has to do with the HBA driver! Please advise.
Thanks

Re: EVA5000 issues
Mixa:
Which Multipath software solution are you running?
It is not likely that there is an issue with the EVA, though anything is possible.
The driver on the other hand is potentially a cause for issues. Are you at the latest driver for your HBA? Latest SecurePath version? or MPIO version?

Re: EVA5000 issues
hi,
if there is no hardware error on the host operation system side, then you should never worry about the EVA...
try to figure out what exactly is missing. is it an entire LUN, or just a few files. is the file system corrupted?
