Re: EVA5000

Most likely that is due to a bad disk drive. Log a call with HP and let them analyze the controller logs - they have the experts and the necessary tools.

Re: EVA5000

Believe it or not. What Uwe said is the most probable cause. And you should open a call to HP because they have the apropiate software to analyze the controllers log. This should be free of charge if it's on warranty.

Re: EVA5000

Or you are probably running those infamous firmware VCS 3.010 or even VCS 3.014 - that cannot handle bad drives (or drive firmware mismatches) gracefully and properly.

Have HP upgrade it to VCS 3.028 and have them check all your disks are at the same firmwqre rev.

Re: EVA5000

Hello All,

From the controller logs, it was analysed and discovered that there is a problem on I/O moduleA of enclosure4 and fiber cable connecting it to the loop switch.
I/O moduleA and fiber cable connecting it to the loop switch was replaced.
Failed loop 1A on both controllers was re-enabled and problem resolved.

The VCS upgrade from ver 3.025 to ver 3.028, the disk FW 3.028 and command View from 3.3 to 4.1 will be done as soon as CU approve it.

Thank you all for your contribution.
