Re: HSG80 array controller failure

HSG80 array controller failure

Hello, I am currently experiencing an issue with the second HSG80 controller on our Storageworks MA8000 unit. The status LED blinks normally, but the port button LED's (1 thru 5) are blinking quickly. Resetting the controller, reseating the ACS card, nor reseating the actual controller resolves this issue.

The system is configured in a Transparent Failover Mode. My command set is currently limited as the CLI tells me that the other controller is offline. I was planning to remove the failover mode and try to get this unit working off of one controller (for the time being). But I need to make sure that doing so is not data destructive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey

Setting to nofailover is not data destructive - "set nofailover nodestroy_unflushable_data" and you will have single controller and all the cached data will be also "failed over".
