HSG80 Linux Agent
Now that my HSG80 is working with the DS20 (Alfaserver) and Debian Linux, i need a way to get notified when a disk fail.
I have not found the SWCC agent for linux.
Is there an agent that can be run on Debian Linux on Alpha platform?
If not, does anybody know another way to get failure notifications?
Thanks

Re: HSG80 Linux Agent
Platform kits for the HSG80 are currently available from:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/acs/platformsolutionkits/index.html
and the only ones for Linux are Linux x86 (supported versions are documented in the Release Notes).
Other alternatives open to you would be to use HSG80 Element Manager on a SAN Management Appliance if you have one or leaving a console permanently connected to the controllers maintenance port capturing the output, third party tools are available to then scan through this output looking for things like instance codes indicating a controller failure.
Another alternative may be to present the CCL (Command Console LUN) to another node on the SAN (you'd have to check for support as to heterogeneous environment - see the SAN Design Guide documentation) and use this to monitor the HSG's.
