iSCSI boot from Linux
We are trying to get a linux server up and running using iSCSI boot. We are using an Intel Pro/1000 PT network card, that is working correctly. The kernel is loaded correctly, but then the kernel has establish the iSCSI connection to the MSA 1510i.
It seems te be trying to connect, but we get an authentication failure. The exact message is:
iscsistart: Login negotiation failed. couldn't recognize text InitiatorAlias=Reject.
The firmware version of the MSA 1510i is 1.32.200. We are using Fedora 8.
Does somebody know how to get around this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: iSCSI boot from Linux
iSCSI Boot works best with intelligent network cards. In the 2.0 Upgrade we did verify the HP Multi-function NC37x and NC38x series are able to do a iSCSI boot. You can find these on Proliant servers.
Note: There is a fw issue for the upgrade to 2.0. It was pulled recently as we have seen instances of certain controllers failing to power up after the new image is run. So please wait for the fix for that issue and then maybe you can try this iSCSI boot again.
