MSA1000 Dual Controllers Problem
Hi all,
I have a 2 node cluster which consists of 2 HP Proliant DL380s running Linux connected to an MSA1000 via fiber. Each server has two QLA23000 cards in it going back to the MSA1000. Recently I was doing maintenance work on the servers and had to restart both servers and the MSA1000. When the MSA1000 completed its startup the controller cards' LED did not indicate the "ACTIVE" and "STANDBY" controller status (just the "MSA1000 Startup Complete" status. When I restarted one of the servers, it could not mount the drives on the MSA1000. I finally had to pull one of the controller cards on the MSA1000 in order the server to start and mount the drives.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue?

pls do let know what LED's are blinking in the controllers.
I have had the issue with windows and linux both.
also what is the firmware virsion on the controllers.
do u have redundant paths from the sever and are the controllers connected to fiber swithces.

Re: MSA1000 Dual Controllers Problem
The problem might be with the mode being incorrectly set in the controller profile. It is currently set to "Default" instead of Linux. I will make the change and post back what my results were. Thank you for replying!

Re: MSA1000 Dual Controllers Problem
Confirmed. The problem was with the mode of the controllers. The mode was set to "Default", however it needed to be set to "Linux". I overlooked that setting in my earlier attempts to get the servers up. It can be set by going in the ACU and entering SSP Configuration. Thank you.
