Multi Path software for RHEL3
Hi All
I need to configure an MSA1000 (dual controller) with a SAN enviornment. RHLE3 host (DL-580) with two HBA (FC) connected through SAN switch. From host I can see the the storage. My queries are as follows.
1. Do I need to install multipath s/w to install in my RHLE3 host server.
2. If yes then what is the name of this s/w and how can I get it
3. How can I configure dual controller? Is it auto?
Please help.
Best regards,
Rana

Re: Multi Path software for RHEL3
>>> 1. Do I need to install multipath s/w to install in my RHLE3 host server.
Normally, yes. Specially if you have multiple HBA's. If you don't install a multipath software, you will see one device file per path to the LUN.
2. If yes then what is the name of this s/w and how can I get it
Generally is used the HBAs driver multipath feature. When you install the driver for the HBA, you can enable multipath options. Qlogic drivers provides multipath options for Linux.
3. How can I configure dual controller? Is it auto?
There is nothing special to do with dual controllers.

Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?
