Secure Path 3.0a for Linux
Hi,
I have some problems with SP 3.0A for linux. OS is RH AS 2.1 e27, and EVA 3000. Problem is failover from one controller to another. When stating spmgr display I get one active and one available connection and no standby connections as I would expect. Both displayed connections are from the controller that is currently presenting the LUN. If I switch preferred path for selected LUN on EVA to the other controller then paths are active to that ctrlr. So it seems that this is a SP problem. Because if I perform shutdown of controler, the other controller brings LUNs up but Secure Path does not follow. I can just see previous active and available path as FAILED and after the reboot of controller, they are in standby status because all LUNs are active on other controller. Data is inaccessible until reboot.
I wonder if Secure Path for Linux is currently able to overcome HSV controller failure?

Re: Secure Path 3.0a for Linux
I have seen issuesa like this before; in my case this happend in Linux environment with an EVA5000. Things seem to be HBA related; I do not know which FiberChannel HostBusAdaperts you use, but my experience is that with QLogic adapters, things will not work correctly with Securepath (if you use the QLogic build-in functionality everything seems to work just fine).
I have solved this in our case by using Emulex HBA's instead.
