Backups change to failed

I'm currently using the native backup in VME. The full backup did have a succeeeded status until I had 3 or 4 incremental backups. This is happening to all VMs. To test this I deleted all backup types, ran the full backup then let the schedule do the rest. Why would the full backup go from a succeeded to failed status? In the history no backup type failed.  It's not just one server is all VMs, all VMs were tested the same way. Is this a known bug?

The documentation describes native HVM backups as a full backup followed by incremental backups, and identifies Backups > History as the place to review backup execution results. 

I don’t see anything documented that says a successful Full backup should later change to Failed simply because additional incremental backups have completed. I also don’t see this behavior listed as a known v9.1.0 issue in the v9.1.0 Release Notes.
