HPE VM Essentials RFC
Just an idea, and propably at the wrong location in this forum, but I would like some changes to the interface so it would become more intuitive, responding on actions without F5, and more actions could be done directly, for instance:
- Environment: click on items should redirect to corresponding pages
- Group Workloads: click on a group and go to that specific cloud
- Cloud types: click on a cloud and go to that specific cloud
- Cluster Types: same as above
- Restart / Force restart if a terminal screen was spawned (e.g. comparable with VMware)
- Function/hotkey passthrough to the terminal if a terminal screen was spawned (Windows, Ctrl, Shft, FN, comparable with VMware)
- Change VM boot order via GUI
And so on.

Re: HPE VM Essentials RFC
Hi,
This is a very good set of suggestions — I’ve seen similar feedback from customers transitioning from VMware environments.
From a usability perspective, reducing clicks and improving direct navigation (as you mentioned for environments, workloads, and cloud types) would definitely improve operational efficiency.
A couple of additional points that could help:
Consistency in navigation flow (same behavior across all object types)
Faster access to VM console without intermediate steps
Better visibility of VM state/actions without needing manual refresh
Overall, aligning more with the VMware-like interaction model would make adoption easier for many users.
Thanks for sharing this — definitely valuable input.
Regards,
Carlos
