VME Hardware Self Certification

@CalvinZito  Thank you for replying to the older thread. I will start a new one with your previous reply just in case anyone else cares to chime in.

There is some documentation for a "self certification" if someone wants to undertake that effort. I need to confirm that anyone can test their configuration and have it supported. But as we've mentioned here, our HVM is based on a KVM hypervisor. What HPE will support if your specific hardware isn't on our compatability list is we will support customers on a best effort basis until we find out there might be a mismatch in the driver/firmware combination.

I see a few options here:

  • Test the environment you want run to convince yourself that it will all work.
  • Go to your hardware vendors and ask them to certify with HVM.
  • Do your own self-certification and submit the results to HPE to add to the certification.

Internally, I've seen the self-certification package. I'm not sure it's available to send to anyone but I can ask.

My takeways .. I will endevor to test on the existing Dell's we have in April and complete any customer items from within the self-certification package if this can be provided.

I look forward to your next reply.

Re: VME Hardware Self Certification

I took another look at the compatibilty matrix, and not sure when this was last updated, however I was happy to see that my NetApp Storage is listed and supported.

NetApp

All-Flash FAS

AFF A-Series (all models)

iSCSI, FC, NFS; Minimum ONTAP version: 9.14

This leaves the server hosts to be sorted out.
