Re: NIMBLE BIOS ERROR

Hi Pakito561

The replacement controller may have shipped with a different BIOS firmware version than the one currently in use on your array. Nimble OS expects both controllers to run supported, matching firmware versions.

As suggested, please create a support case with HPE Support for troubleshooting.

Hope this helps.!

Regards

Anil

Re: NIMBLE BIOS ERROR

After replacing a controller in your Nimble array, you may encounter the error: “An unknown firmware version was detected for component BIOS on controller 1.” This typically happens when the firmware version of the new controller does not match the existing controller, as Nimble arrays require both controllers to run compatible firmware. To resolve this, verify the firmware versions of both controllers through the Nimble OS GUI or CLI, and update the new controller to match the existing one if needed. Ensure the replacement procedure was correctly followed, including powering down the failed controller (if hot-swap isn’t supported), installing the new controller, and rebooting both controllers after firmware alignment. If the issue persists, contact HPE Nimble support with the firmware details so they can assist with firmware reconciliation. It is crucial to avoid mixing firmware versions across controllers to prevent BIOS mismatches and related errors.
