Volume capacity issue

The storage volumes visible to the OS have available capacity. However, the volume capacity visible to the storage management tool is full. I would like to know the cause

Re: Volume capacity issue

This looks to be a typical case of OS filesystem not sending unmaps to the Nimble.

I can see this is an XFS partition, and get it done using two methods. DD or FSTRIM and there are few prechecks to be done.

But don;t worry, we have a workaround. Can you tell me the flavour and version of linux ? Also, is it a virtual machine or a physical host? Also, please let me know the version of Nimble OS on the array.

Re: Volume capacity issue

Okay, you will have to initiate manual block reclamation (batched discards) and can be invoked by using the fstrim and dd utilities in linux.

It is recommended to engage support team, either nimble or oracle if you are unsure of it.
