Impossible connection for the user root@ipovc

Hello,

Following upgarde in 4.1.3, since a few days the message below is coming up on the Vcenter, it tries to connect to the ovc with a root account.

Impossible connection for the user root@ipovc: no authorization - target = vmware host.

No error in the federation, vm's are in HA, RAS.

Any idea?

Thank you,

Re: Impossible connection for the user root@ipovc

Hi jneau
Based on the error message you provided, it seems like there is an issue with the root account on the HPE SimpliVity system. This account may not have the necessary permissions or authorizations to allow the Vcenter to connect to the OVC.

I request you to try a couple of steps mentioned below.

  1. Check the network connectivity between the Vcenter and the OVC. Make sure that the two systems can communicate with each other.
  2. Verify that the HPE SimpliVity system and the Vcenter are running the same version of the software. If not, upgrade the system or downgrade the Vcenter to match.
  3. If the issue persists, contact HPE SimpliVity Tech support for further assistance.

Hope this helps.!!

Regards
Mahesh
