Upgrade Question

Hey, I'm wanting to upgrade my cluster of two machines. I'd like to do it with no downtime. I moved all the VMs to host2. I'd like to upgrade host1, then host2 and then the vcenter. Is that the right way? or should it be vcenter, host1, move all the VMs to host1, upgrade host2.

Also I put the software in the same folder as the upgrade program, but nothing is showing up here under ESXi Upgrade. Do I need to do omnistack first and then it will show up?

Re: Upgrade Question

Hi himelkari

Thank you for coming to HPE Community Forums.

The best practice will be upgrading vCenter first, then the host.
The rest of the procedure you planned is fine.

Hope this helps!!

Regards,
Sanika.

Re: Upgrade Question

The ESXi OS needs to be downloaded separately and placed in the same folder as the software update.

You can find it here:
