Upgrade questions
Need to upgrade hosts and vCenter versions. Will be my first time running an upgrade. 6 hosts in 2 clusters.
How long does each host take to do the auto-update generally? Gen10 HPE hardware.
Am I being overly cautious if I want to split the upgrades into vCenter and hosts separately? I know I'll need to open support cases both times this way, but I'm okay with that?
Appreciate any insights.

Re: Upgrade questions
Hi pehrafano
Firmware, OVC, and esxi upgrade will take approximately 2 hours for each node
for the second query, I would suggest you get in touch with tech support.
Hope this helps..!!

Mahesh

Re: Upgrade questions
Hello @pehrafano,
Make sure to check the HPE Simplivity Interoperability Guide to make sure you upgrade to compatible versions between the different components, here's the link:
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=a00117319en_us
The time to upgrade can vary, there are 3 components to upgrade: Simplivity Omnistack software, ESXi and firmware. Each component has different durations, but I agree it shouldn't take more than 2 hours.
vCenter is not part of the Simplivity upgrade process, you have to do this separately. You don't really need to open a support case when performing upgrades unless you experience a problem.
