Interface Details screen

I've checked a few places and the only mention of it is a brief description in the IMC manual, so I'm hoping someone can help.  The interface details screen includes an option for "user-defined speed".  I tested it out and it doesn't appear to affect the speed of the port. Has anyone been successful with using this to force a port at the specified speed or is there another purpose for the option.

That's not changing the device configuration. It's just changing what IMC thinks is the speed of the port, which is useful for calculating utilisation percentages.

What were you expecting it to do? Apply shaping/policing policies to the port?
