HPUX B11.23 on Itanium Servers
After upgrading my ISEE on two servers to version A.03.95.026 on one server I can see a change to ISEE the my computer information is there and there are a few extra features.
However the other server I upgraded it did not update the ISEE interface and no entitlement checks were done by HP etc...? What have I done wrong?
After checking swinstall on both servers I can see one server has more ISEE components than the other;
Working server shows;
ISEEPlatform A.03.95.026 ISEE Platform
ISEE-Java A.01.40.00 RST Java Runtime 1.4
Non working server shows;
ISEEPlatform A.03.95.026 ISEE Platform
ISEE-Chorus A.5.1.390.861 ISEE-Chorus
ISEE-Java A.01.40.00 RST Java Runtime 1.4
ISEE-SysInfo A.01.00.16 ISEE SysInfo
Isee_EmsListener A.11.07.26 ISEE TCP listener for EMS
events
I dont understand...
Chad

Re: ISEE Interface not Update after Upgrade
Check the SD log files located in the /var/adm/sw directory to see if they hold an answer to what went wrong.
Also you can check the last line of the /opt/hpservices/RemoteSupport/config/ISEEConstants.properties file to verify the ISEE version installed.
Bottom line is, you are probably looking at a re-install -- after you fix the initial problem that caused the installation to fail.
Take care,
frank

Re: ISEE Interface not Update after Upgrade
Is the non-working also an Itanium Server running 11.23? How about the model numbers?
Send me the 2 motprefs files and I'll take a look.

Re: ISEE Interface not Update after Upgrade
They are both HP Itaniums servers running B11.23 however the working install is foundation operating edition and the non working is the enterprise operating edition.
Please find attached the two motpref files.
Working = motprefs_covbwdq
Non-Working = motprefs_covbwp

Re: ISEE Interface not Update after Upgrade
Take a look at motprefs, you will find they use different Java version:
JVM_LOC=/opt/hpservices/jre/opt/java1.4/jre/bin/java
You working server seems to use the default Java bundled with ISEE (1.3) and your non-working Server is using the one installed with the OS (1.4).
My recommendation:
1. Make a copy of motprefs just in case.
2. Modify JVM_LOC with a different Java version, you can try the 1.3 version.
3. Stop/start hpservices.
4. Logon to ISEE and check for completion.

Re: ISEE Interface not Update after Upgrade
Chad,
btw: The default Java comes with ISEE is under:
JVM_LOC=/opt/hpservices/jre/bin/java
To find out the version:
opt/hpservices/jre/bin/java -version
NOTE: You may have multiple Java versions on your System and one might work.
Hope that helps,
