Need a hand resolving a registration error
Hey hey.. I just finished configure HP IRS and it is registered with my HP Insight online account.
I went through the ilo to register just this 1 server, as a test, to the HP IRS box and received the following error:
Remote Support Registration Error. Please unregister and re-register device. (Insufficient device identifier information)
I've double checked Firewalls and security groups and I have everything configured as it should be. Any insight into how I can resolve this?

Re: Need a hand resolving a registration error
- If this contunies to happen, I would suggest you open a support case with HP to help determine what might be happening.
I work for HPE

Re: Need a hand resolving a registration error
Reset the iLO and Try again, or Update the iLO Firmware.

Did you ever found a solution on this?
Having the same issue, in contact with HPE but they are taking a long time to resolve the issue.

Re: Need a hand resolving a registration error
I had a similar issue and we were able to resolve it. (Mine was iLO 4 but should be the same for newer)
Our error message was Device Registration Failed: Insufficient Registration Data
Here are some things to check in the iLO. Go to the Overview section.
-serial number listed for us was in lower case
-UUID number displayed start with 00000000-0000 (no other looked like this)
I had an SR going. Took some time but once an engineer got involved, we had some steps.
I had to boot into the BIOS->Advanced Options->Advanced Sytem ROM options
In there I was able to re-enter the serial # in upper case to match other servers
Noted mainly there was Product ID field was blank.
This would be on the server on a tag but if you are remote, you can also look it up using the serial number on partsurfer
https://partsurfer.hpe.com/search.aspx
I saved it and then had to do a Power->Reset.
Once it was done booting up, the iLO Overview was updated. The serial number was now upper case and the UUID was fixed (no more 000's)
I was still having issues in OneView setting up remote support. Oneview didn't show my corrected serial #.
I ended up removing the problem host from Oneview and re-adding it. (not sure if you need to check but Remote Support section in our server was enabled in Oneview, just a check box).
Once add back to Oneview was done, Remote support registered easily.
Hope this helps someone.
