8640 Memory question
Hello all,
Whats the best way to find information about memory Part number, DDR2,DD3 etc in an IA server? Basically I am trying to find out if my 8640 memory can go into an IA superdome.
THe server was a 8620 and was upgraded to 8640 before my time. So seems like cell boards were replaced with the sx2000 chipset? Folks here are not sure about memory being upgraded at the same time.
THanks,
Chetan

Re: 8640 Memory question
According to the rx8640 quickspecks http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12471_div/12471_div.HTML the memory is DDR2, 266/533MHz with ECC. Part numbers are shown as well. Check your SD model to see if it fits.

Re: 8640 Memory question
Hi,
If you are on HPUX try running the SMH to get the DIMM Partnumber and size information.
http://:2301 and here navigate to System> Memory
Thanks
Chetan
